Hello Everyone,
It’s been a while since I last posted, and I apologize for that. Between working full-time and squeezing in writing when and where I can, I just can’t seem to be able keep up with the website, Facebook, and Twitter. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day, week, or month where I can get everything I want and need to do done in a timely manner. Despite my best efforts, it seems like months routinely go by and I haven’t shared anything new with all of you. Anybody know of any wealthy benefactors willing to support a struggling writer? Yeah, me either, oh well… guess I’ll just have to muddle through it! LOL
It’s good to see that this winter is finally coming to a close! At last count, Boston has had 104.1 inches of snow. We’re just a few inches away of breaking the all-time record of 107.6 inches (recorded during the winter of 1995 -96)! I live a little north of Boston, and at last count we had had 111 inches, and I know for a fact that many communities around Massachusetts have seen quite a bit more that that! It’s going to be really good to see all of these snow banks gone, and have sidewalks again! You know it’s been a rough winter when you go outside, it’s 36 degrees, and you think: “Wow, it’s really nice out today!” Amazing how our perception can change, isn’t it?
So, on to the business of Anawyn. Here’s the latest news: I was hoping to have Huntington (Book two) out to editing by now, but some unforeseen circumstances (and expenses) came up and I was forced to put off the editing. Unfortunately, the next available appointment is not until July, which means that the book will not be available until sometime in August. A very unfortunate setback, as I was hoping to be getting book three ready by then. What’s that saying about life giving you lemons?
Some good news: as of March 14, Anawyn had been downloaded 168 times, and of those downloads, 24 people enjoyed it enough to purchase full copies. I give a very heart-felt, and humble ‘Thank You’ to all of you for the support. Hopefully some more of those sample downloads will translate into sales. And as always, I would love to hear from any and all of you. Feel free to say ‘Hi’ on Facebook, Twitter, or the website. I always make it a point to respond to anyone who leaves me a comment.
The editing setback; however, has given me some time to work on my urban fantasy novel, which has tentatively been titled ‘Freemont’. It’s been a while since I last worked on it, and it’s been nice to spend some time in another of my ‘worlds’. This one is about a US Marshal who hunts were-creatures. It’s far too early for me to even begin to guess at when it will be finished or available. The Anawyn novels continue to be my first priorities publishing-wise, and take up the greatest amount of my free time. I’m also going to focus some time on addressing the editing and typos I’ve found in Anawyn since making it available. At some point in the near future I’m hoping to have a new revision uploaded and available. I’m very disappointed in all of the mistakes I found, and thank all of you readers for powering through them. I promise, all of my next releases will not suffer in the same way, I have learned my (embarrassing) lesson on self-editing!
Thank you for the support, and think SPRING!
I hope that all of you have a happy and healthy March.
Regards,
Edward Emerson
